Have a read! Mini libraries in Brunssum
Since the beginning of 2021, the streets of Brunssum have been brightened up by dozens of mini libraries! Why? Because reading is great and mini libraries are a wonderful way to make books accessible to everyone living here. Below, please find an overview of all 70 locations and some more background information!
A mini library is just that – a sturdy little cupboard with glass doors in someone’s front garden or right next to someone’s front door, filled with books. That is, second-hand books you don’t need anymore. Everyone can contribute books, everyone can borrow books. You can visit any mini library you like, in your own neighbourhood or somewhere else. When you’re done reading, put it back for someone else to enjoy. The mini libraries are a very low-threshold way to discover new books or to read books that are otherwise unaffordable. Please participate with your books you don’t need anymore! All books are welcome, children’s books, fiction, non-fiction et cetera.
With over 70 mini libraries throughout Brunssum, there is always one nearby, perhaps in your street or just around the corner. Make reading into the adventure it can be!
